Trust Consultancy and Development is an independent research and capacity development consultancy based in Turkey and providing a range of services to the whole of the MENA region. Our dedicated team aspires to provide a range of expert services to international and local NGOs, businesses, donors and third parties with vested interests in different aspects of development and humanitarian action.
Our work addresses the growing demand for high-quality research, third-party research, data collection and capacity building services. Aside from our independent research institution, we offer third-party consultancy services to clients including Save the Children, People in Need, World Vision, Norwegian Refugee Council, and Samaritan’s Purse. As a research institution with the capacity building built into our organization, we offer a unique perspective and can tap into a network of opinions of people working on the ground in real time on the issues we research. Currently, we are working in Syria, Turkey, and Iraq. Our head office is in Gaziantep, Turkey with satellite field research bases in Syria and Iraq.
About the role:
Trust is looking for an unpaid, remote media and communication intern to oversee, update, and create content for Trust’s presence on traditional and social media. Trust is looking for someone who is passionate about humanitarian and development work and who would like to intern with an organization working to make a difference. This internship is very useful for a person who would like to know more about the humanitarian sector, particularly monitoring and evaluation, and offers the opportunity for close insight into Trust’s operations and projects.
Main duties and responsibilities:

Oversee and update the website

Manage the Trust social media such as Facebook and LinkedIn and build and execute a social media strategy that reflects the Trust vision, mission, values, and activities

Develop and publish creative content for social media accounts, including Facebook and LinkedIn

Work to continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then act on this information

Write for the Trust website and blog

Assist in planning and compiling the monthly newsletter

Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and strategies for promotion and communications

Create infographics, videos or other multimedia content

Write, edit and proofread media material for use in different events

Other tasks
The candidate should:
- Hold a University Degree in a relevant field, preferably MA student in media, design, journalism, communication, Marketing, Public Relations or other relevant fields
- Be a fluent/native English speaker
- Have strong writing and editing skills for different purposes
- Knowledge of Arabic or Turkish would be an asset
- Have strong research skills
- Be able to work in a multi-cultural work environment
- Have good interpersonal skills
- Prior experience with social media writing for an organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Multimedia, graphic design, video editing, and photography skills desired, but not mandatory
