Digital and Engagement Cluster Senior Specialist or Specialist

Background: Are you an expert in digital engagement, strategy and brand communications? The Communications Division of the Knowledge, Innovation and Communication Sector of the IDB Group (IDBG) is looking for a proven digital strategy and operations leader to head our new Digital and Engagement Cluster team. The Communications Division engages in digital strategy through storytelling around our programming and culture to build reputation, and through dissemination of knowledge products (publications, MOOCs, open code, etc.) which shape our content and media efforts. It additionally supports and advises IDB Lab and IDB Invest on these fronts.

The team’s mission: It is an exciting time to join the team and combine efforts with our content and media professionals to transform the way we engage and advise our clients and position the team as an internal agency. You will do so by providing a single-minded strategy for synergy and efficiency, allowing for advisory, planning and execution that builds and protects the IDBG brand.

You will be responsible for driving the digital content and media strategies for the IDB Group in support of the organization’s mission of improving lives. You will also manage the people, processes and resources that support the Digital and Engagement Cluster team.

  • Team management: Lead and develop the team and connect with other team members working in the same space across the IDBG for stronger synergies and collaboration. Set best structure from initial organization.
  • Digital Marketing: Strategic leadership of the regional digital ecosystem roadmap across web platforms, mobile applications, and marketing automation platform (Salesforce Marketing Cloud). Partner with Salesforce Marketing Cloud lead to drive implementation in this space, and with Information Services Unit to introduce technology enhancements as needed across ecosystem. Develop and implement an always-on communications’ strategy in benefit of the corporate brand and that complements programming communications.
  • Content and Media Strategy: Lead media planning, buying and innovation strategies in partnership with sector and country communicators and agency partners when appropriate. Outline and execute the IDB content strategy across web, email, social and paid media platforms. Provide input and expertise for the same effort in IDB Lab and IDB Invest, setting the tone for a concerted effort. Coordinate internal content creation with team members as well as external content agencies. Oversee marketing campaigns and consult with sector and country communicators in planning, defining and measuring KPIs for specific digital experiences.
  • Measurement and Analytics: Collect and analyze data to inform overall communications strategy and digital communications direction. Partner closely with Information Services Unit Insight & Analytics team to define strategic measurement roadmap and to improve way data and insights are used for planning and evaluating communications outcomes. Define KPIs for always-on initiatives, and drive accountability across the team.
  • Operations, Vendor, and Partner Management: Drive operational efficiency inside the team and across IDBG teams—defining processes for HQ, IDBG and local collaboration, and in overseeing project and resourcing prioritization across the region. Manage scoping, contracting and partnership of agency partners (media, digital and content). Develop and track budgets initiatives.
  • Lead Step-up: Set standards and process. Elevate thinking on best-in-class digital planning, the role of content, social media, email marketing, audience/personas understanding, A/B testing, paid advertising and more. Leveraging possible agency partnerships for up to date changes in the digital and media landscape, digital literacy, and others as needed.

Qualifications

What you’ll need: Education: Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field.

Experience: you have at least 10 years of experience in digital marketing, and previous experience leading budget and processes, as well as introduction of standards and best practices.

In addition, you have/are:

  • Pro-active, self-starter with ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple projects across multiple stakeholders simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in account-based marketing, internal or external Digital Agency environment preferred, as well as previous experience in content strategy and media planning. Strong data-driven and problem-solving will be considered.
  • Strategic visionary with demonstrated experience in creating omni-channel marketing strategies and bringing them to execution. Demonstrated ability to drive campaign activities alongside broader corporate brand initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis and data-driven decision making. Experience with standard analytics programs such as Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Tableau

Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus. You must have exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to influence through all levels of an organization, demonstrated through excellent interpersonal skill.
