The mission of the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) is to promote justice, economic opportunity, and human dignity through the rule of law. ABA ROLI currently holds an award in Tunisia to support the professionalization and development of shelters, listening centers and a hotline for survivors of GBV in Tunisia as well as the development and support of a platform for data sharing and archiving about incidence of GBV, in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Women s Affairs and CSO partners, and raising awareness of survivors of GBV of their rights under the Law on Violence Against Women, passed in 2017.

ABA ROLI is in search of a specialist to lead the program in close coordination with DC-based staff, leading a team of locally hired Tunisian staff and in cooperation with a Tunisian NGO sub-grantee. The specialist would be responsible for oversight and management of the program, serving as a subject matter expert as well as overseeing the day-to-day management of the program activities and implementation of the program workplan. The specialist should have experience in the US or another developed nation context with implementation of programs for survivors of gender-based violence, which they can bring to bear in the Tunisian context. Experience working in and leading cross-cultural teams is helpful.

Basic Qualifications:

Possession of a JD from an ABA-accredited law school or recognized foreign law school, or possession of a Master s degree from an accredited college or university;

Fluent English language skills both spoken and written.

Desired Qualifications:

French or Arabic language skills helpful but not required;

Experience leading cross-cultural teams;

Willingness to travel outside of Tunis within Tunisia;

Previous experience with program management;

Previous experience with office management a plus.
