About the program
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Food for Peace (FFP) is seeking applications for funding for development food security activities in Zimbabwe from 2020-2025. Drawing on previous experience in managing USAID Food for Peace (FFP) awards in Zimbabwe, as well as considerable experience managing and implementing FFP awards globally, CRS will be submitting a proposal in response to the anticipated 2020 FFP Development Food Security Activity (DFSA) Request for Applications (RFA). The proposed program will involve a mul ti-sectoral response to build resilience and address food insecurity and malnutrition in Zimbabwe, with CRS’ focus on Matabeleland North.

Job Summary:
As Chief of Party II you will provide vision, leadership, representation and overall management of the proposed USAID DFSA project to serve the most vulnerable. Your strategic leadership, management and technical knowledge will ensure the delivery of high-quality programming. You will provide leadership and guidance to sub-grantees on the program to ensure efficiency and adherence to the program timelines. As a senior leader, you will proactively manage security and mitigate security risks.

Education and Experience
* Master’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Business Management or a relevant technical area (agriculture, nutrition, public health, etc…)
* 10 or more years’ progressively increasing management and technical experience in international development projects, at least 5 of which should be in the field.
* 7 years’ experience effectively managing donor funds, specifically with USAID funding. FFP and Title II experience an advantage. Excellent knowledge and experience in budget management.
* Established leader in sector as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications, conference presentations etc.
* Proven leadership skills managing projects of a similar size and scope in developing countries, including management of complex, high-value, multi-activity projects, with complicated logistics.
* Prior experience working in Zimbabwe, and familiarity with the country’s social and economic dynamics. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive work relationships with key stakeholders such as host governments, donors, other donor-funded projects and stakeholders, local organizations and partners.
* Demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff, as well as experience managing programmatic and financial reporting.
* Experience in adaptive management and learning techniques is highly desired.
* Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Web Conferencing Applications, and information and budget management systems.

Travel Required:30-40% travel
